Chanel, is the latest book we have designed in a fashion series for the V&A and it has just arrived in the shop. Written by Amy de la Haye, it’s the compelling story of fashion’s most famous heroin and is beautifully illustrated with fabulous period images. There is a link in our shop to buy.

We saw these lovely boxes in a window in Greenwich Village and just had to explore further. Murray’s is one of those specialist deli and cheese shops that New York does so well and these screenprinted boxes transform a few portions of cheese into the perfect dinner party gift.

Crossing the line

We picked this lovely certificate up at the fabulous Vintage Festival at the Southbank in July. It was given to BOAC passengers to commemorate their flight crossing of the equator and this one remains blank. The illustrator is credited as Laban and a google image search found one filled in and dated 1967 – so at least we know when it was in use.

This lovely leaflet was produced for the British Oxygen Co. Ltd. and presumably came with their Sparklets soda syphon. It lists a cocktail for each letter of the alphabet with hand drawn type and crayon line drawings. We particularly like the Soda and Soda - for the non-drinkers! We don’t know the date but it looks early sixties to us. A big thank you to our friend Yvonne for thinking of us when she saw it.
